| Setting up SMTP Authentication | ||
|
SMTP Auth under Outlook Express 5.0-6.x We are moving to a spam reduction mode and to do so, who travel or use our email services while NOT connected to the ISONE network, should set up SMTP Authentication This allows our servers to recognize who you are with a password. This allows you to RELAY mail through our servers and the system will not consider you an outside relay/spam source SMTP Auth under Netscape Messenger We have added a new feature to allow us to better block SPAMMERS and relaying of messages. We have added SMTP AUTHentication. This feature is totally voluntary, and allows the user to roam with a laptop and use our mail servers for outgoing email from wherever you are. This is accomplished by validating your username and password during outgoing mail transmission. This discussion goes over older OE clients as well as Netscape clients as well as a problem found in Netscape and a workaround for it |
