Setting up Netscape 3.01

This sheet contains the instructions for setting up Netscape 3.01
under both Windows 95/NT and Windows 3.1. Setting for browsing and
email are included.



Unpacking Netscape From Disks

Note:  If you have downloaded Netscape off our site, please skip down to
       the section 'START INSTALLATION'

o	Place the last disk (#3)  in your 3.5" drive.   Enter MS-DOS as follows:
	o	Under Windows 3.1, Select the 'Main' program group, double click the 
                'MSDOS Prompt'
	o	Under Windows95, Select 'Start','Programs','MSDOS Prompt'

o	Setup a temporary installation directory
	o	At the DOS Prompt, enter the following commands (underlined is your 
                entry):

		C:> MKDIR C:\NTMP
		C:> C:
		C:> CD C:\NTMP
		C:> A:PKUNZIP A:NET.ZIP 
		C:> EXIT

		Inserts disks as requested during unpack. When done, the MSDOS Window 
                will go away.

o	NOTE: For Multiple email users under windows 95 only:  You must setup a multiple 
              user system at this point.  See the Technote on doing this available from 
              ISONE, otherwise, skip this step


Start Installation
o	Start the installation program
	o 	Under Windows 3.1,  Pull down the 'Program Manager', 'File' menu, 
                select 'Run'
	o	Under Window95, Click 'Start' button, select 'Run'

o 	Enter the following in the box for program to run,  'C:\NTMP\NxxE301'
		where xx='32' for Windows95, or '16' for Windows 3.1

o	For 16-bit version only - The above will create the setup files 
	necessary to install Netscape,
o	Click 'Start', and 'Run' again, and type:  'C:\NTMP\SETUP'

o	Follow onscreen instructions and answer questions.  

o	Customize Netscape for the ISONE System.  (Once for each user on Win95 multi 
		email user system)

	o	Start Netscape.  Under Win95, If prompted for dial-in connection, select 
        	Dial-in CANCEL button.
	o	Under OPTIONS menu, select 'General Prefs' and enter the Browser start 
		page (half way down) as 'http://www.isone.com'.  Click OK.
	o	Under OPTIONS, Select 'Mail/News Prefs', under SERVERS tab, enter 
		'mail.isone.com' for POP3 and SMTP servers. And your user name, as the 
		POP3 username.  Select the IDENTITY tab and fill in the	items requested.  
		Email address is username@isone.com.  Click OK.
	o	EXIT Netscape for the changes to take effect.
