
Windows95/98 Dialup Configuration
Note: This procedure is for the STANDARD Dial Up Networking included with
Windows 95/98. If you have installed any Microsoft DUN upgrades, such as
1.2 under Win95, these
instructions/tabs/buttons might be slightly different, but the setup values
shown do not change.
STEP 1: Verify that Dial-up Networking is
Installed
Press the [Start] button, select Settings..., then Control Panel. Double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon. Select the Windows Setup tab, then click on the Communications option and press Details.... Make sure that the Dial-up Networking option is checked. If it is, go on to step 2. If it isn't, check it and click OK. Windows 95/98 will attempt to install the needed drivers, so make sure you've got your installation disks or CD handy! You will be required to REBOOT after this installation. Now that Dial-up Networking is installed, you can proceed to step 2.STEP 2: Verify that the Dial-up Adapter and TCP/IP Protocol are Installed
Press the [Start] button, select Settings..., then Control Panel. Double-click the Network icon. Make sure the Configuration tab is selected. Both Dial-up Adapter and TCP/IP should be present, then you're ready to proceed to step 3. However if those are not present you must add them. To add the Dial-up Adapter, hit the Add... button, double click Adapter, then scroll down the list until you can select Microsoft. Choose the Dial-up Adapter and hit OK. To add the TCP/IP, hit the Add... button, double-click Protocol, then select Microsoft on the left, then click TCP/IP, and hit OK. Now your Network dialog box should contain both Dial-Up Adapter and TCP/IP.
Close out that box, insert your Win95/98 CD if reqested so these can be installed. NOTE: You MUST use the EXACT version/CD of Windows 95 or 98 to install these drivers or your system might not REBOOT after installation!. You're now ready to proceed to step 3.
STEP 3: Creating ISONE.COM dialup

Now that the driver is installed, you need to configure it so it will work with Windows95 and to connect to isone.com. Press the [Start] button, select Programs..., Accessories ,Communications , then choose Dial-Up Networking. Either "Make New Connection" dialog box should come up or you have to double click Make New Connection . On Make New Connection dialog box type isone.com and select your modem as shown below. Click Next
Type in the phone number which will dial up to connect to us as shown below. Our phone numbers are on the website. (Fig. 2) Enter it in these boxes.(Fig. 2)
After you have finished, Click Next and then Finish
There will now be an icon named isone.com in the Dial-Up Networking folder as shown below. The Dialup Networking folder is found in 'My Computer'. Double click it open to see the newly-created icon. (Fig. 3)(Fig. 3)
In the Dial-Up Networking folder, select the isone.com icon which you just created with the right mouse button. A little grey popup menu should appear. Choose Properties which will bring up a box. Then click Server Type. On Server Type menu box, please modify as shown below or (Fig. 4)

STEP 5: Creating short cut icon for isone.com dialupIn Dial-Up Networking folder, once again select the isone.com icon with the right mouse button. A little grey popup menu should appear. Choose Create Shortut. Click Yes when it asks you with an error If you want to create shortcut to be placed on desktop instead. Your new Shortcut to isone.com icon should be on your Desk top window. Double click it which will bring up your dialup connect to isone.com. Type in your username@isone.com and password and click on Connect as shown below. YOU MUST ENTER THE '@isone.com' OR IT WILL NOT WORK!(Fig. 6)(Fig. 6)
