Setting up your dial-up networking
is easy. We've created these step-by-step instructions
to make it even easier. To correctly set up your dial-up
networking in Windows 2000 Professional, follow the
steps below:
STEP 1
Click the Start button, click Settings,
and choose Control Panel

STEP 2
Double-click the Network and Dial-up Connections
icon.

STEP 3
Double-click the Make New Connection
icon.

STEP 4
Click the Next button.

STEP 5
Select Dial-up to the Internet.
STEP 6
Click the Next button.

STEP 7
Select I want to set up my Internet connection
manually, or I want to connect through
a local area network (LAN).
STEP 8
Click the Next button.

STEP 9
Select I connect through a phone line and
a modem.
STEP 10
Click the Next button.

STEP 11
In the Area Code field, type the
area code of your local access number.
STEP 12
In the Telephone number field, type
your local access number. The access numbers are available
here.
Click the Advanced button.

STEP 13
Click on the Advanced button and Connection Tab.
STEP 14
Click the PPP (Point to Point Protocol)
radio button in the Connection type area.
Check the box next to
Disable LCP Extensions.
Click the None
radio button in the Logon procedure area.
Click the OK button

STEP 15
Click the Next button.

STEP 16
In the User name field, type your
ISONE Internet username as 'username@isone.com'.
In the Password field, type your
ISONE Internet password.
STEP 17
Click the Next button.

STEP 18
In the Connection Name field, type
ISONE Internet.
Click the Next button.

This completes the setup of your dialup connection.
You will be asked:
Do you want to set up an Internet mail account now?.
If you'd like to setup your email accounts using Outlook Express then continue
otherwise, answer 'No' to the question
Setting up Internet mail account using Outlook Express
STEP 1
Click the Yes
radio button in the 'Do you want to set up
an Internet mail account now?' area.
STEP 2
Click the Next button.

STEP 3
In the Display Name field, type
your name.
Click the Next button.

STEP 4
In the E-mail address field, type
your email address.
Click the Next button.

STEP 5
Click the down arrow on the My incoming mail
server is a __ server drop-down list and
choose POP3.
In the Incoming mail (POP3) server
field, type mail.isone.com
In the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server
field, type mail.isone.com
Click the Next button.

STEP 6
In the Account name field, type
your ISONE Internet username or other username if assigned.
In the Password field, type your
ISONE Internet password.
Check the box next to
Remember password if you would like
to have your password saved.
Click the Next button.

STEP 7
Check the box next to
'To connect to the Internet immediately...'
if you would like to connect right away to the Internet.
STEP 8
Click the Finish button.
Congratulations! You have successfully
set up your dialup Internet access and email access and are now ready
to connect to the Internet.
